Added

• Siri works on your Apple Watch again. Say "Add a task to Dumpling" or "Complete a task in Dumpling" to your watch and it happens, without reaching for your phone. Dumpling now installs a small app on the watch — open it once after updating so Siri picks up the phrases. It signs in from your iPhone, and says so plainly if it ever needs you to open Dumpling there.
• Sub-goals now show up on the Goals screen. A goal you've broken down carries a count of its unfinished sub-goals; tap it to unfold them right under the goal, and tap again to tuck them away. Dragging a goal to reorder it takes its sub-goals along. In grid view the count is there too, and opening the goal shows the full breakdown.
• You can add a picture to a note or a task description from your phone. There's an image button on the editor toolbar now — tap it for the camera, your photo library, or Files. It also appears on task descriptions while you're typing in one, which previously had no way to add a picture at all. Pasting a copied image works too.
• Checking in a habit now feels like checking off a task — the same pop and the same burst of sparkles, on the Habits screen and the habit's own page as well as Today. Habits had the animation but never made a sound.
• Hitting a streak milestone gets its own moment. Reaching 3, 7, 30 or 100 days now plays a fuller sound alongside the encouraging note that already appeared.
• Dumpling now explains why it wants to send reminders before asking. Saying "Not now" costs you nothing — the system's own permission prompt, which appears only once, is left unspent until you ask for a reminder or turn notifications on in Settings.
• Dumpling now tells you when it's showing saved data. If the server can't be reached and what's on screen is more than a few minutes old, a thin banner says so — "Offline — last synced 12m ago" — instead of silently serving old data. You keep working offline exactly as before; the banner is just honesty.
• A banner shows when the app is connected to a non-default server, naming the host — so a build pointed at a test server can never masquerade as the real thing.

Fixed

• Switching servers no longer shows the previous server's data. Cached tasks, notes and everything else are now stored per server as well as per account, so pointing the app at a different server starts from that server's own data instead of silently reusing another's. Your signed-in session is kept per server too, so signing in elsewhere never signs you out of your main account.
• A server outage no longer claims you "cancelled" anything. When the app backs off from a failing server, the error now says the service is temporarily unavailable and roughly when it will retry, instead of "Request was cancelled."
• "Add a task to Dumpling" now works when you say it to Siri. Only the "in" wording was registered, so the "to" phrasing fell through to Reminders — and silently, which is why it read as Siri ignoring Dumpling rather than missing a preposition. Both prepositions and the add/create/new verbs are covered now.
• Widget times follow your phone's clock format. A device set to 12-hour time showed a task due at "16:30" — conspicuous on the Lock Screen, sitting beside a system clock reading 4:30. Both the Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets now use your device's own setting.
• Setting a repeating task to end "on date" no longer suggests a date that can land a day early when the next month crosses a daylight-saving change.
• Attaching a photo from an iPhone actually works, and says so honestly when it doesn't. Photos from an iPhone are HEIC, a format the server wouldn't accept — and the app reported "Attachment uploaded" regardless, so the photo quietly went nowhere. Images are now converted and resized before upload, and a failed upload tells you it failed instead of pretending.
• Uploads show progress, and get two minutes to finish instead of twenty seconds, so a photo on a slow connection isn't cut off partway.
• Pictures inside notes fit the screen. An image sized on a desktop window used to run off the edge of a phone.
• Tap a picture — in a note or in the attachments list — to open it full screen and zoom in.
• Attachments now appear in the side panel on desktop, not only on the full task and note screens.
• Completing a task from its detail page or the side panel plays the completion sound, which previously only happened from a list.
• Completing a task from a list gave a double buzz on phones. It's one now.
• Filling in a missed day on a habit's week strip gives the full completion feedback instead of the quiet tick meant for undoing something.
• The notification banner in Settings now updates as soon as you return from your phone's settings, and its Enable button opens the right screen on Android.

Changed

• Mac keyboard shortcuts now use ⌘ instead of Ctrl. Opening the Scratch Pad is ⌘⇧Space and creating a task is ⌘⇧A. The old Ctrl combinations weren't just unidiomatic — Ctrl+Alt+Space is macOS's own "switch input source" shortcut, so that option never worked at all and gave no hint why. If you'd picked an alternative shortcut on a Mac, check Settings → it now maps to a different combination. Windows and Linux are unchanged.
• Clicking Dumpling's menu bar icon on a Mac now opens its menu, the way every other menu bar app behaves. "Show Dumpling" is the first item.

Fixed

• Launch at startup works on Mac. The setting had no effect at all — the switch could sit in the "on" position while nothing was ever registered. It now uses the system Login Items service (macOS 13 and later).
• Clicking Dumpling's Dock icon brings the window back when it's tucked away in the menu bar. Previously the app came to the front with no window at all, and the only way back was the menu bar icon.
• Mac windows no longer show two sets of window buttons — the native red/yellow/ green lights and a second Windows-style set in the opposite corner.
• The keyboard shortcuts sheet shows the shortcuts you've actually got, per platform, instead of always printing the Windows ones.
• A stale sign-in no longer gets your address blocked. The app asked to renew the session once per request, several times a second, until Dumpling's abuse protection cut off the address it came from. It now stops after the first refusal.
• Adding or editing while Dumpling is unreachable no longer hangs. Being on Wi-Fi was taken as proof the server could be reached, so every action waited out a full timeout before saving offline. Now the first failure is enough, and later actions save instantly and sync when the connection returns.

It reported "you're on the latest version" no matter what had been released, because it compared the new version against its internal build number rather than the version you see — so every update looked older than what you already had. • On phones, the search and menu buttons now sit beside the page title instead of on their own row above it, and the due-count and list buttons keep to that same right-hand column — reclaiming about 70px at the top of every screen. Their tap targets are larger too.
• Dark mode got a full retune for easier reading: primary text no longer glares near-white, surfaces (background, sidebar, cards) are more clearly separated, the whole palette carries the same warm cast instead of muddy brown cards on a cold background, and faint placeholder text is actually visible again. Every text/surface pair is contrast-verified.

Fixed

• A project no longer hides most of its tasks. If Dumpling couldn't reach the server to load a project's sections, the screen quietly showed only the tasks that weren't in a section — while the Tasks tab kept counting all of them, so the tab could read "Tasks (27)" above ten visible rows. Sections are now kept offline like everything else, a task whose section is missing still shows up instead of vanishing, and if sections genuinely can't be loaded the screen says so and offers a retry.
• An Area's "Tasks" count no longer counts subtasks while a project's doesn't — both now count the same things.
• A project's progress no longer creeps up forever when it contains a repeating task. Every past occurrence was being counted as its own item, so a daily task could push a project to something like "3 of 40". Archived projects are also no longer counted in the sidebar.
• Popping the Scratch Pad out into its own window no longer crashes Dumpling on Windows — neither when you open it nor after opening and closing it a few times. Closing the pop-out now tucks it away and re-opening brings it straight back with your text intact, instead of rebuilding the window from scratch.
• The detached Scratch Pad loads your content again instead of showing "Could not load scratch pad", and it can no longer disturb your sign-in session while the main window is refreshing it.
• The Today widget shows your tasks again. On the Home Screen and the Lock Screen it read "All clear" no matter how many tasks were due, because its requests were being turned away by the API's client check before they ever reached your data. Siri's add- and complete-task actions were blocked the same way. If the widget genuinely can't reach Dumpling it now says so, instead of reporting an empty day.
• Siri and the home-screen widget now recognise that you're already signed in. Previously only a fresh sign-in shared your session with them, so if the app simply reopened to an existing session, "Add a task in Dumpling" answered with a request to sign in and the widget showed nothing.
• Staying signed in is no longer at odds with using the widget: when the widget or a Siri shortcut renewed your session in the background, the app could come back to a session the server had already retired and sign you out. Both sides now hand the renewal over to each other.
• The Scratch Pad window now follows your theme choice in Settings instead of always matching the operating system.
• Calendar: the yearly heatmap's empty day cells are visible in light mode again (they were white-on-white).

• The Undo window for deletes is now 6 seconds (up from 4), since it's the only safety net on most deletes.

Fixed

• Connecting a Google Calendar account works again. Signing in would complete in the browser but never actually connect the account; now the browser hands you straight back to Dumpling and the connection finishes on its own, with no need to switch back manually. Calendars already connected were unaffected.
• Dialogs across the app now share the design system's warm styling — bone surface, soft corners, hairline border — in both light and dark mode, including the date and time pickers, instead of stark Material defaults.
• The editor's color swatches now follow the theme instead of hard-coded light-mode colors (one a stale, low-contrast grey), so the picker and newly applied colors look right in dark mode; highlights are now soft translucent tints that read on both light and dark paper. (A text color applied in one mode still keeps that mode's exact shade when you switch themes.)
• White text on the yearly-summary celebration card and achievement badges now sits on deeper coral that meets accessibility contrast (the raw coral fill fell below the AA threshold).
• Typography now says what it renders: the app requested Satoshi weights 600/800 that were never bundled, so Flutter silently substituted 700/900. Code, spec, and a new drift test now agree on the shipped weight ladder. (Bundling Satoshi Semibold/ExtraBold — e.g. the variable font — would restore the originally intended 600/800 steps.)
• Task lists are fully keyboard-operable: with a row focused, the menu key (or Shift+F10) opens its actions menu and the Delete key deletes the task (with the same Undo safety net as the mouse path) — date, priority, move, duplicate and delete no longer require a mouse.
• Hover-revealed controls (row "More" buttons, drag handles) are no longer invisibly tappable, focusable, or announced by screen readers while hidden.

• Clicking a task or note now always does what you see. On wide layouts the click opens the side panel exactly when the panel can actually appear — previously, with the AI chat docked or the sidebar collapsed, clicks could silently do nothing or push a full screen past a visible panel.
• The docked AI chat no longer opens where it can't fit. On windows too narrow for the docked column it opens as a bottom sheet instead of breaking the layout, and a chat width saved on a large monitor can't overflow a smaller one.

• Completed tasks stay on your graph. A person linked to one finished and one active task showed two connections in their detail panel but one on the graph — the graph, the connections list, and the assistant now agree. Finished items are drawn muted with a filled check.
• Selecting an item in the full graph shows all of its connections. Weaker ones stayed hidden even when you'd picked that item specifically.
• Screens paint instantly from data already on your device and refresh quietly in the background, instead of showing a skeleton while your data sat loaded.
• The app opens straight into your data. Your session is restored from the device and renewed in the background rather than behind a spinner — most noticeable on phones, which paid that wait on nearly every launch.
• Requests no longer hang when the network goes quiet rather than down. Everything is now bounded; a dead connection reports back in seconds.
